With its nineteen member institutions, the university is turning into a central development institution attracting talented students from all over the world and providing a development context where excellence is at home at all levels.
The management is aware that close ties between the university as a central educational and research institution and its local environment and the industry are of the utmost importance. For this reason, various activities aimed at integrating knowledge and R&D with the industry are being implemented in order to initiate concrete projects contributing to new jobs and new products with high added value. The University of Maribor is thus bringing together knowledge, research findings and the industry.

STUDY
The University of Maribor consists of 17 faculties, offering undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes. Prospective students can choose from a variety of study programmes at all levels of higher education. We offer 1st-cycle professional and academic study programmes, 2nd-cycle unified master’s study programmes, 2nd-cycle master’s study programmes and 3rd-cycle doctoral study programmes.
University of Maribor concluded adapting its study programmes according to the requirements of the Bologna Declaration. Since the academic year 2010/2011 University of Maribor is enrolling only students in Bologna study programmes. Study programmes are offered by the faculties as full time or part time studies.
The implementation of study programmes according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) also enables students to complete their study obligations abroad, choose subjects offered by other study programmes at the University of Maribor or participate in national mobility.
